Find the minimum and maximum possible areas of a rectangle measuring 2 km by 5 km. minimum area: 13.75 km2 maximum area 6.75 km2 minimum area: 10 km2 maximum area 13.75 km2 minimum area: 6.75 km2 maximum area 10 km2 minimum area: 6.75 km2 maximum area 13.75 km2
well you need to find the absolute error in the measurement... do you know what that might be..?
No.
is there more to this question ? the area of a rectangle is L*W or 2*5=10
Is that the minimum
a rectangle does not have a min or max area. It has one answer. For there to be a min or max area, something has to change: one of its sides must be longer or shorter. I think there is more to this question that you have not posted
And can you help me with a other one ? Determine whether the forces in the pair are pulling at right angles to each other. For each group of three forces below, determine whether the forces in each pair are pulling at right angles to each other. 13 lb, 35 lb, resultant force 30 lb no; 20 lb, 15 lb, resultant force 25 lb yes 13 lb, 35 lb, resultant force 30 lb no; 20 lb, 15 lb, resultant force 25 lb no 13 lb, 35 lb, resultant force 30 lb yes; 20 lb, 15 lb, resultant force 25 lb no 13 lb, 35 lb, resultant force 30 lb yes; 20 lb, 15 lb, resultant force 25 lb yes
the absolute error is 1/2 the smallest unit of measurement... so the length in km is \[5 \pm 0.5\] and the width, in km is \[2 \pm 0.5\] so the minimum area using the dimensions are 1.5 x 4.5 = the maxximum area using the dimensions are 2.5 x 5.5 = I'll let you do the calculations to get the minimum and maximum errors. hope this helps
