What process is occurring when the solution is heated? An electron emits energy and it makes a transition to a lower energy orbital. An electron absorbs energy and it makes a transition to a higher energy orbital. An electron emits energy and it makes a transition to a higher energy orbital. An electron absorbs energy and it makes a transition to a lower energy orbital. would also like to know what happens when the color appears in the flame?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Transitions to a lower energy orbital. What do you think happens to the electron...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i really don't know

OpenStudy (abb0t):

electron emits energyen moving to a lower orbital! When the electron returns to the lower orbit, the extra energy is liberated as a single quantum (specified quantity) of light or other form of radiation.

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

An electron absorbs energy and it makes a transition to a lower energy orbital. this is the right answer when you supply heat to the solution here energy level is mentioned but i dont know which energy level whether its transsition , vibration or rotation energy levels but he above is the right answer i think
