A 0.0182g sample of an unknown substance was dissolved in 2.135g of benzene. Molality of solution is 0.0698m. What is the molecular mass of unknown?

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

122.75 is molecular weight

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you get that?

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

is it right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you show your work? I need to understand how you got the answer.

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

Molality = moles of solute(n)/ gram of solvent(GS) but moles of solute = gram of solute(G) /molecular weight of solvent(M) molality =(G/M) /GS except M you know all the things

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

final answer you have to multiply by 1000 bcoz you are doing it molality thats why
