Is x+2 a factor of 2x^3-12x^2+8x-7?
@wednesday09876 How do you usually work these? By that, I mean are you studying long division, synthetic division, or maybe something else?
just verifying that what i have is right, because its very important that i get these answers right.
SO heres how i usually work them
for x+2 and 2x^3-12x^2+8x-7
I take -2 and plug it in for x, and if it equals zero, it is a factor
if we solve x+2=0, we get x=-2 substitute x=-2 to 2x^3-12x^2+8x-7, would be zero ?

yeah i calculate it cant be 0 b but - ... , so it's not a factor of ...
Sorry of the confusion, i knew it wasnt a factor, i did the work out, i was just saying that in the case that it was 0, it would be a factor
