The earth has a vertical electric field at the surface, pointing down, that averages 111 N/C . This field is maintained by various atmospheric processes, including lightning. What is the excess charge on the surface of the earth?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[e=kq/r^2\] so find the radius of the Earths surface divide by k, multiply by r squared and that is the charge

sorry but just did a test with a magnet on a plastic that was stretched out and got a roll of tape to make the magnet move to the tape with no visible work wow and how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry gone to go back to my testing later
