An example of nonviolent protest used in the civil rights movement is
@Jemurray3
The beautiful part of the Civil Rights movement is that these people would go out and do something that they knew would irritate people who were against their cause. Then you would have these moments where protestors who weren't doing anything wrong would be on television getting beat up by their opponents. It made people who didn't care about the problem or who just didn't realize that there was a problem very aware of the issue and offended by it. Basically, nonviolent protest draws attention. Violent protest draws attention to the fact that you are a menace to society. Nonviolent protest that leads to violence against you does both.
Because violent protest leads to more hate and is used as another excuse to hate the protesters. Violent protest is an effort in creating fear and normally leads to more hostility. If you are protesting because you feel you are not being treated like a human being, it helps to act like one, rather than to act like animals. uses media attention to aid in battling, therefor no fighting is needed.
