19. The Montgomery Park officials plan to construct a concession stand beside an access road. They will also construct asphalt pathways from the volleyball court and the tennis court to the concession stand. Describe how to determine where the concession stand should be to minimize the amount of asphalt needed. Include a diagram.

@dietrich_harmon Could you tell me the topic name for this question?
Geometry
@ash2326
I'm thinking :)
lol okay take ur time no rush
:) Thanks
Ok, I think I got it The concession stand has to be besides the road, see my figure|dw:1361551131326:dw| V= Volley ball court T=tennis court C=concession stand
Do you understand the figure?
not really
OK, where do you have doubts?
i think i got it
i want u to check my answer for me
Okay, post it here
The tennis court is T, volleyball court is V, and the stand is S. you need to find S on access road VS+ST as small then Locate T is always the same size of the line of access road. because reflection of th isometry. ST = St, and VS +ST = VS +ST Triangle Inequality Theorem is to add Vs + ST smaller when V, S and T straight so S stand where VT line of the road.
Yeah, you got it right :)
but my teacher said this Work on my explanation
You know that According to the triangle inequality theorem \[VT< VS+ST\] As the angle VST increases VS+ST decreases, when it becomes 180 S lies on VT, that time VS+ST is minimum
