Pure aluminum metal has density 2.70g/cm3. If we add a solid aluminum cylinder to a graduated cylinder containing 19.2mL of water, and the water level in the cylinder rises to 24.7mL, what is the mass of the aluminum?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[d=m/v\] volume = 24.7mL - 19.2mL = 5.5mL density = 2.70g/cm^3 solve for mass by multiplying volume * density mass should be = 14.85 grams Unless there is a conversion that I may have missed.
