OpenStudy (e.cociuba):
x^4+3x^2+2=0
let x^2 = t
so t^2 +3t^2 +2 =0
(t +2)(t+1)=0
so x^2 =-2 and x^2 =-1
so the equation has 4 complex roots and no rational roots.
ANSWER: 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):
x^4+3x^2+2=0
let x^2 = t
so t^2 +3t^2 +2 =0
(t +2)(t+1)=0
so x^2 =-2 and x^2 =-1
so the equation has 2 complex roots and no rational roots.
answer= 2
