Which of the following combinations of reactants would not produce a successful single-replacement reaction? 1)Zn+CuSO4 2)Ag+SnSO4 3)K+Na2SO4
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!
find an activity series, that will tell you which metals can replace other metals from solutions
reactivity decreases as we move from left to right accross the periods in the periodic table and reactivity increases as we move down the groups in the periodic table, with some exceptions of course which i do not know of. Ka>Na so 3) is possible 2) not possible because sn is more reactive than gold and so cannot be replaced so is the RIGHT ANSWER 1) is possible i think because K>Na
3 because either way the compound would be soluble. So it would not successfully form a new compound
i have been thinking of 3) all day.i know that it is a little complex.but be sure of 2) because gold is one of the most unreactive elements.si i still say 2) and maybe just maybe i ll check on three again.
the issue here is single replacement not a reaction doing to completion or solubility
the person with the question is not even talking
