Let R be the region bounded by the graphs of y=cos((pi x)/2) and y=x^2-(26/5)x+1. Find the area of R. http://goo.gl/vSltp

I really just need confirmation that what I have is right. (hopefully it is anyway)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\int\limits_{0}^{5}(\cos(\pi x/2)-(x^2 - (26/5) x +1))dx=55/3 + 2/\pi = 18.97 \]

Does this make sense? I'm a little unsure.

@phi

OpenStudy (phi):

It is the correct setup, but I did not check your integration

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As long as it's the correct setup then I'm glad for the reassurance. ;)

OpenStudy (phi):

top curve - lower curve gives a height height*dx gives an area integrate along x to get the total area.
