would an endothermic process be melting ice in water?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol, I already gave you the answer to this on your previous question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Think about it. If water is going from ice to liquid is it losing heat? or gaining heat? exothermic = loss of heat or energy to the surrounding endothermic = gaining heat from the surrounding

OpenStudy (anonymous):

super sorry just checking my answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahh endothermic i don't believe ice loses heat while melting I could be wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No need to be, but yeah @cntrywrtr summed it up.

Think about equilibrium, everything wants to be stable. Hot goes to cold and cold goes to hot until a balanced temperature is reached between two substances.
