find integrals of dx/(1+3sin^2 x)

hartnn (hartnn):

hint : divide numerator and denominator by cos^2 x

hartnn (hartnn):

then put t=tan x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Found it somewhat tricky. I thought of it as factoring out a cos^2(x) from the denominator. Also get rid of the resulting csc^2(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sec^2 x dx / (sec^2 x + 3 tan^2 x) how to proceed after putting t = tanx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Remember sec^2(x)=1+tan^2()

hartnn (hartnn):

yeah, and since t= tan x dt = sec^2 x dx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes got it thank you very much for all. Some more diff problems to come.... pls help

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome and sure :)
