How do I find the atomic wieght of FE(NO3)3? The parentheses are confusing me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find the atomic weight you have to use the gram formula mass. the parentashes just means that that you have to multiply 3 by N and 03 by 3 as well will which equal to FEN309 and then you willl have to find the mass of total by using the gram formula mass.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

The formula tells you that the molecule contains 1 atom of iron, 3 atoms of nitrogen and 9 atoms of oxygen. So find the atomic weight of Fe and add 3(14)+ 9(16)
