What is the concentration of fluoride ions in the FINAL solution if: 300mL of 0.500M BaF2 and 500mL of 0.400M NaF are mixed together. 0.500M 0.350M 0.625M 0.438M

OpenStudy (jfraser):

find the total moles of fluoride ions in each solution first, then add together. Then divide by the combined total volume

The answer is 0.438.

OpenStudy (cyber405):

M * mL = mmol ....Find mmol of fluoride ions in each solution... You should see how many ions of fluorine each one produce... then as JFraser says add mmols together and divide by the total volume of solutions...
