-9 sqrt/ over(4-7i)-(6-6i)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{-9}/(4-7i) - (6 - 6i)\] is that what its supposed to say?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please help me I dont know it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay well I'm not completely sure on how to do these anymore but I'm going to try my best. First thing I did was take out the parentheses to make this: 4-7i +6 +6i. I get the sqrt of -9/-2 - i after combing like terms.

I multiply by the conjugate (-2+i) to top and bottom.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

still confused what is the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

By the way, the square root of -9 is 3i. On top I get: -6i + 3i^2 over 4 - i^2. Also known as -6i - 3 over 4 +1. i^2 is known as -1. Hang on I'm getting to the answer in the next step.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer should be: -6i-3/5 if I did this the right way.

Thank you so much :)
