BaSO4 in a solution for example in water, these ionic compounds become: \[Ba(OH)2 \rightarrow Ba ^{2+} + 2 OH ^{-}\] and \[H2SO4\rightarrow 2H ^{+} + SO4^{2-}\] if we use the Cation Ba2+ we need one SO42- and we also have this ionic compound in the solution.
