CH3OOH + NaCl = ?

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

CH3COONa and HCl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I doubt if this reaction occurs. because if it occurs, it will produce a stronger acid HCl!

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

it wont occur completely i think bcoz the acetic acid is weak electrolyte will not completely dissociate !!!hence less amount may be formed !!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here we do not have Redox reaction. the concentration is not important!

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

i am not speaking of concentration dude

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No reaction will occur because CH3COO does not displace Cl because Cl is more reactive and NaCH3COO is water soluble. If NaCH3COO were not water soluble a precipitation reaction would occur. If CH3COO was more reactive than Cl the world would be messed up.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No reaction will occur. as i told.
