i put the answer: [1,4] max=65 min= -11 and for [0,2] max= 196 min= -11
what's wrong with the answer?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i found the derivative..12x^2-26x+4
OpenStudy (anonymous):
then i factored: and got the critical points: x=1/6 and x=2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
then i evaluated f at each critical number
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and then evaluated f at each endpoints

left point: critical points: Right point:
f(1) -4 f(1/6)= 1.32407 f(4)= 65
f(0)=1 f(2)= -11 f(5)= 196
OpenStudy (anonymous):
now can anyone tell me what i did wrong with the answer?
[1,4] max=65 min= -11
[0,2] max= 196 min= -11

hartnn (hartnn):
why you took f(5) ?
hartnn (hartnn):
range is [0,2] right ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
sorry everyone.... hehe
hartnn (hartnn):
so for for [0,2] max= 1min= -11
