The equation shows one mole of ethanol fuel being burned in oxygen. Convert the energy released into its equivalent mass. C2 H5 OH (l) + 3 O2 (g) --> 2 CO2 (g) + 3 H2O (l) deltaH = -1418 kJ/mol

Isn't this just E = mc^2? I initial thought about the fact that 1 mol = 6.02x10^23 atoms. But now I'm doubting my self.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"convert the energy released into its equivalent mass" yes, it sounds like E=mc^2. but why would they ask this?
