Natural uranium contains 0.7% U-235 (i.e 235-92 U) When U-235 nucleus is fissioned, approximately 200MeV of energy is released. Calculate the total energy released, in joules, when the U-235 content of 1kg of natrual uranium is completely fissioned. I've tried so much but can't do it =|

OK, so what is the atomic mass of Uranium?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

U-235, from that you would take the atomic mass as being 235g per mole. Uranium-238 is 238, if you google it. But this is about the isotope 235.

OpenStudy (tcy):

U-235 must be 235.XXXXXXX, get the percentage of mass of U235 then do the fission calculation using binding energy equations
