Why is CrCl6 named chromium (VI) hexachloride instead of chromium (vi) chloride. My reasoning is that you do not add prefix for Metal + nonmetal compound.

I think Chromium (VI) Chloride is a perfectly good name the roman numeral is stating the oxidation state of the metal (+6) and so it must have the equivalent of -6 in ligands in order for the complex to be neutral.
