The curve above is the graph of a sinusoidal function. It goes through the point (4,0). Find a sinusoidal function that matches the given graph.
@hartnn
this far i have -3sin... i forget how to get b.
the amplitude is always positive, so +3 +3 sin (....) the phase shift is 90 degrees, so you can write, 3sin (ax+b) = 3sin (90-ax) (or = 3cos ax, because sin(90-t)=cos t )
what general form you were using that included 'b' ?
Atrigfunctionhere(BX+C)
oh, so, y=Asin (bx+c) where A = +3, c =90 degrees and you wanted b, right ?
yes.... but i am not sure how to come to the answer.
plug in in the point (4,0) x=4,y=0 in y=3sin (bx+90)
3sin b*4+90= c?
0=3sin (4b+90) but i don't think that will give you answer in standard form you require.
and the amp should be neg because from 0 to 1 it is decreasing to the minimum.
no i am trying to find the equation to the graph... and it has to be exact because its web workk.
