A charge of +5μC is located somewhere inside a closed hollow cube with sides 30 cm long. What is the electric flux through the closed surface of this box? 5.6×10**5 x Nm**2/C Can somebody tell me, why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

apply Gauss' Law it states that Flux = total charge enclosed / total surface area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correction, that gives you the Electric field. flux is jsut the total field around the conductor so, \[\Phi={Q\over\epsilon}\] where \(\epsilon\) is the permittivitty of the medium

also u gota use columbs law

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@luvvictor no need. just plug in Q and value for epsilon, and you'd get the answer
