How many moles of H2O have a mass of 32.6 grams? A. 1.81 × 100 moles B. 5.06 × 100 moles C. 1.80 × 101 moles D. 2.24 × 101 moles E. 3.26 × 101 moles

thomaster (thomaster):

What's the mass of 1 mole H2O?

thomaster (thomaster):

H=1.00794 g/mol O=15.9994 g/mol

thomaster (thomaster):

So 1 mole H2O = 18.01528 grams Now you have to find out how many moles equal 32.6 grams

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.81 x 10^0 moles. 32.6/18 (molar mass of water) = 1.81

thomaster (thomaster):

An easy trick is a crosstable. You say: 1mol = 18.01528 g nou need ?mol = 32.6 g So you multiply 32.6 by 1 and then divide that by 18.01528 Then your answer would be 1.81 moles

thomaster (thomaster):

Yes so your answer is C :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C or A?

thomaster (thomaster):

onooo A i mean xDDDD

thomaster (thomaster):

srry

thomaster (thomaster):

misread it :P
