OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can someone teach me Pie Charts???

Parth (parthkohli):

:-O

Parth (parthkohli):

I thought Waterineyes knew everything!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Meri itni izzat mat kar yaar...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have studied them a long back, I forgot..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.......what is the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ha ha ha ha.. I don't know even the question..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isn't you know everythin?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

everything*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait, let me put the question first..

Parth (parthkohli):

OK, let me explain. If you have 8 pencils, 6 of them are from Natraj and 2 others from some local company, what is the percentage of Natraj pencils in the lot you have?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know everything?? Then why we have @ParthKohli as an Openstudy Member? :P

Parth (parthkohli):

...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6/8 times 100 ??

Parth (parthkohli):

Yes!

Parth (parthkohli):

So you just represent the Natraj pencils by a sector in a circle, known as a "pie chart" in statistics. That's it yaar!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yaar, this is the normal percentage, wait let me search question first then I will ask..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ParthKohli open this link.. http://www.indiabix.com/data-interpretation/pie-charts/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let us start with first problem.. :)

Parth (parthkohli):

OK! Printing cost = 36,000 = 20% of the whole transaction. First find what 100% is, then find what 15% is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

20 % of x = 30, 600 ?? Right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh my god, why i can't see anything.......

Parth (parthkohli):

Yes @waterineyes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here after finding x that is the total one, we will find out its 15 % right??

Parth (parthkohli):

Yes :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now what the hell is second one??

Parth (parthkohli):

It's very simple.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How can we find the angel of that part??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*angle..

Parth (parthkohli):

The total angle of the circle is 360 degrees, so what is the 15% of 360 degrees?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ho like that we have to find.. Okay I got it..

Parth (parthkohli):

Since royalty is 15% of the whole circle, we have to find 15% of 360

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15/360 = 1/24 times 100..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Only 1/24 or 1/24 times 100 ??

Parth (parthkohli):

...? You just have to find \(360 \times \dfrac{15}{100}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh my God, I inverted it.. :)

Parth (parthkohli):

lol, hota hai, hota hai

OpenStudy (anonymous):

36*15/10 = 18*3 = 54 degrees..

Parth (parthkohli):

\[\checkmark\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now third one, I also forgot CP SP problems.. :(

Parth (parthkohli):

In the 3rd question, you just have to find out the CP, then look at the 25% of that.

Parth (parthkohli):

Hmm, OK.\[MP = CP + \dfrac{20}{100}(CP)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If book price is 180 then I have to find 20% of it first right??

Parth (parthkohli):

Hmm, no, you have to find the CP.

Parth (parthkohli):

\[180 = CP + \dfrac{20}{100}CP\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Meaning, Marked Price = CP + 20% of CP, Okay..

Parth (parthkohli):

Have to go take a bath, will return in 5 minutes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay I try on my own..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

180 = 120/100 CP 180 = 12/10 CP 1800/12 = CP CP = 150

OpenStudy (anonymous):

25/100 times 150 = 150/4 = 37. 5 Rs.. Right??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kryton1212 can you try fourth one??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh sorry can you help me in solving fourth one if you know about it?

Parth (parthkohli):

I'm back

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Total copies are 5500.. Yeah I am glad to have you back..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Transportation Cost is 82500..

Parth (parthkohli):

Give me 2 minutes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Take your time Parthy..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Should I multiply CP with 5500 to find the Cost of 5500 books?

Parth (parthkohli):

Hmm, yeah.

Parth (parthkohli):

The transportation cost is 10% of the CP, so the CP of 5500 books is Rs. 825000.

Parth (parthkohli):

The CP of one book is 825000 divided by 5500.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5500 times 150 = 825000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

150..

Parth (parthkohli):

Yeah, so 150 is the CP of one book.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10/100 * 150 = 15

Parth (parthkohli):

Now because we want to have 25% profit, we will find \(150 + \dfrac{25}{100} (150)\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the role of Transportation here?

Parth (parthkohli):

Hmm, no, the transportation cost just helps us to find the CP of 5500 books.

Parth (parthkohli):

From then on, we don't need the transportation cost anytime.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How it helped?? Earlier how did you find CP by using Transportation??

Parth (parthkohli):

It is written in the pie chart that transportation cost is 10% of the CP!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah this much I got.. How you found CP then??

Parth (parthkohli):

If 82500 is the transportation cost of 5500 books, then 15 is the transportation cost of one book.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah this I got too..

Parth (parthkohli):

15 is the 10% of the original CP.\[15 = \dfrac{10}{100} x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay got it..

Parth (parthkohli):

So the CP of one book is 150.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I found CP by the formula you gave above..

Parth (parthkohli):

Arrey! That site has solutions too!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah that has solution too but I want to understand not see..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, for 25% we add 25% of CP more to CP cost??

Parth (parthkohli):

Yes :-)

Parth (parthkohli):

I have to go outside in some time, let's do this fast.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

150 + 37.5 = 187.5 ??

Parth (parthkohli):

\[\checkmark\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now last one only: Royality 15% and Printing 20 %.. So, what to start with this??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

20/100 of 150 - 15/100 of 150 = ??

Parth (parthkohli):

\[\dfrac{20}{100} = \dfrac{15}{100}x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like this??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you explain this how ??

Parth (parthkohli):

\[x\% - 100\%\]is your required answer.

Parth (parthkohli):

I have to go now :-(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, take care, I try to understand this..

Parth (parthkohli):

I'd send you a message on FB explaining how, after I come back

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

omg, so many reply-_-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can also increase it..

OpenStudy (goformit100):

@kryton1212 Yes it's OS , every thing is possible here.
