well i myself saw such question for the 1st time . so here's my explanation for the next ans. you see x -> 3- i.e less than 3 .but at 3 we have a point and a graph which has values for x>3 but less than 3 we have no value for fx so limit doesn;t exist i think
what is the 3"-" for (what is the negative symbol mean
it means u should get the left limit for that
and if it's + u should get the right limit
he's right it means the left limit

for the first one if u approach the x=2 from right the y will approach 4
and for the second one if u approach the x=3 from left the y will approach -1

no if u approach 3 from left just left the answer is -1 for right it's -4 but again as the question want the left limit the answer is -1 but remember if the question just said limit at x =3 it doesn't have any limit imean if doesn't mentioned left or right

a function has limit at a point just when its left and right limit are the same
ok it said lim f(x) x->3^- the - in power means get the left limit so as u see it has left limit and it's -1
in that case u shouldn't notice at the right limit
