How do I differentiate (2*x)/(3*x^2)?

use the quotient rule i believe.

I know I should use the rule D=[f(x)/g(x)] => (f'(x)g(x)-f(x)g'(x))/[g(x)]^2 but then I get (2*3x^2 - 2x*6x)/(3x^2)^2 => (6x^2 - 12x^2) / (9x^4) which is -6x^2/9x^4 which is then -2/3x^2 right...?

you can leave it as -6x^2/(3x^2)^2 i think, depending on how simplified your teacher wants it.
