An aqueous solution containing 15.0 g of NaOH is mixed with an aqueous solution containing 15.0 g of H2SO4. (A) Write a balanced equation for the reaction that will occur. (B) Identify the limiting reactant.

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

2NaOH +H2SO4 =Na2SO4 + 2H2O

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

what do u think about limiting reagent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would it be the h20? If I did this right, I think it yields 6.75 grams?

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

limiting reagent should be from reactant side it has nothing to do with product

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean NaOH, oops! :)

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

can you convert 15 of NaOH and 15 g of H2SO4 to moles

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

just divide 15 by their molecular weight !! u get moles :)

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

limiting reagent is the one of the reactant which in less quantity and is completely utilized in the reaction

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

yaaa its NaOH
