1st bring -square root of -5x to the right to make the square root of 11-x the subject.....then square both sides to get rid of the square root.....then solve...i hope i helped
|dw:1365417789841:dw| nw square both sides and try to get rid of the 'root' signs. on the right side you wil still hve a root sign whereas on the left side yu will have a linear equation. square both sides again and then you will get a simple quadratic equation which can be solved by factorisation

it cant u square both sides....if u square the left of equal sign then u must square the right....for example if u divide the left by 2 then u divide the right by 2....so if both sides are squared both square roots are gone
Because when you square the right side you get (a+b)^2=a^2 +2ab+b^2. where b is your term with the root. to get rif of that u have to square both sides again.

x=-5/4 and x=-5 since u got a quadratic equation. u must get 2 roots.
