hi there! can anyone help me with this? :) Arrange the following elements in order of increasing atomic size, and explain how you know the order: Ca, Rb, S, Si, Ge, F. Do not simply state the trends but rather explain why the trend exists

Rb, Ca, Ge, Si, S, F.

With Rb being the largest.

This is because as you go across a row there is a larger +ve charge from the nucleus, causing the electrons to be pulled tighter together. Going down a column, size increases. This is because there are electrons in higher energy shells which are effectively shielded by the lower energy electrons. Hence Ce is the largest (bottom left-nearly) and He is the smallest (top right)

Feel free to give me a medal if you found this helpful.

thanks so much i will!!
