help please..
the \(x\) axis between 2 and 6 is divided in to 8 intervals each of length \(\frac{1}{2}\)
your rather tedious job is to compute the area of each of these rectangles
how so?
the base is \(\frac{1}{2}\) and the height is the value of the function at the left hand endpoints, namely \[2,2.5,3,3.5,4,4.5,5,5.5\]
your job is to compute \[f(2)\times \frac{1}{2}+f(2.5)\times \frac{1}{2}+f(3)\times \frac{1}{2}+f(3.5)\times \frac{1}{2}\]\[+f(4)\times \frac{1}{2}+f(4.5)\times \frac{1}{2}+f(5)\times \frac{1}{2}+f(5.5)\times \frac{1}{2}\]
or more simply put \[\left(f(2)+f(2.5)+f(3)+f(3.5)+f(4)+f(4.5)+f(5)+f(5.5)\right)\frac{1}{2}\]
whats is the function equation?
\(f(x)=\frac{x^2}{9}\)
have fun, use a calculator, wolfram or a spread sheet
yes thank you, for the next one ( underestimate)
actually a spread sheet is easiest gotta run
ok thank you
