How do you calculate the [H+] in a solution that has a pH of 9.7?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pH = -log[H+]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for finding [H+]..u have to take Anti Log

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Note: it is a -ve Number...

OpenStudy (jfraser):

It's NOT a negative number, it's a negative exponent. There's a difference.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean..u r going to take Anti-Log of a -ve Number....So we have to do some Manipulations...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2.0 x 10^-10 M!?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

that's what i get

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Excellent, thank you
