2A+B---->C+D is a reaction Rate of the reaction = k[A]^2{B}^1/2 What is the order of the reaction if A is present in large excess. Guys its pretty urgent....

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

order of the reaction is some of the exponential terms on the reactants can you answer now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya it needs to be 2.5 by addition, but as A is present in excess the answer may change, the answer given says 0.5

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

it is excess mean we cant tell accurately how much it can be 2 or three??? but more thatn 2.5 we can say definately

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@chmvijay i dont know but the answer given here is 0.5, what do i do?

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

may be if A is large it wont count for the order of reaction and only counts is another reactant and it has value of 1/2 it is nothing but 0.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and moreover by A being in excess the reaction will take place on terms of B as it behaves like a limiting reagent....ya now i can get the whole picture.......

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

:)

@chmvijay Thanks

ur welcome by all means
