how do you calculate moles ? PLEASE HELP !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As in converting from grams to moles or how much of a certain element is in a mole?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Both !

Well to find out how much of an element is in a mole you can look at the periodic table. Example: Oxygen has a molar mass of 15.99 grams so in 1 mole of oxygen there is 15.99 grams.

Converting from grams to moles is a little different but follows the same principle. Lets say we have 43 grams of Lithium. There are 6.94 grams of Lithium for every mole so \[43 grams of Li \times \frac{ 1 mole }{ 6.94 grams of Li }\] so the grams of Li cross out and you end up doing 43 x 1 which is 43 then you divide that 43 by 6.94. So you end up with 6.195 moles of Li

For Solving this Question, I would like to ask you that, do you have the detailed conception of : Mole concept
