Am I right?? The picture shows a flagpole, AB, above a house. Rounded to the nearest whole number, what is the height, in feet, of the flagpole AB? my answer for AB is 12.44
\[(17*\sin (45))/\sin (45) = 17\] \[(17*\sin(90))/\sin(45) = 24.04\] \[(24.04*\sin(15))/\sin(30)=12.44\] \[(24.04*\sin(135)/\sin(30)=34\]
I posted the picture already.
i need a bit of your help.. yeah u posted it but its a bit confusing thats why i made 2 diff diagrams so tell me how would it look
... The second one?
What.....
uh..i really need some help. There is one angle which is 15 and there is one angle which is 45. so does 45 angle cover the whole big triangle or does it cover only the smaller triangle
It only covers the small triangle.
Ok thanks. so Tan of 45 = perp/17 Let the side from B to base be BC. 1 = perp/17 (Tan 45 = 1) 17 = BC . Now if 45 covers only small triangle, then angle covering big triangle = 45+15 = 60. Hence Tan 60 = AC/17 root of 3 = AC/17. Root of 3 = AB+BC/17 But BC already is 17(found earlier) root of 3 = AB+17 Hence 17 x root 3 = AB + 17 Hence AB = 17 root 3 - 17 => AB = 17(root 3 - 1) AB = 17(1.732 - 1) (root 3 = 1.732 AB = 17 x 0.732 = 12.44 so ur right :)
OhKay! Thank you very much! :DD
