Matrices help???
might need a little more to go on ....
\[\left[\begin{matrix}15 & 8 \\ 4x & 0\end{matrix}\right]-\left[\begin{matrix}2 & 5 \\ x & 3y+6\end{matrix}\right]=\left[\begin{matrix}13 & 3 \\ 12 & 4y+8\end{matrix}\right]\]
@amistre64
adding and subtractg matrixes is a by equivalent parts operation
I have to find the values of x and y
\[\left[\begin{matrix}15 & 8 \\ 4x & 0\end{matrix}\right]-\left[\begin{matrix}2 & 5 \\ x & 3y+6\end{matrix}\right]=\left[\begin{matrix}13 & 3 \\ 12 & 4y+8\end{matrix}\right]\] \[\left[\begin{matrix}15-2 & 8-5 \\ 4x-x & 0-(3y+6)\end{matrix}\right]=\left[\begin{matrix}13 & 3 \\ 12 & 4y+8\end{matrix}\right]\] \[\left[\begin{matrix}15-2=13 & 8-5=3\\ \\ 4x-x=12 & -(3y+6)=4y+8\end{matrix}\right]\]
I'm lost...
then youll have to tell me where you are lost at, i made it as explicit as possible
I have to find the values of x and y..
then solve them from the last matrix setup .... after all, they are just basic linear equations
is it x=-4 and y=2?
@amistre64
4x-x=12 3x = 12 x = 4 -(3y+6) = 4y+8 -3y-6 = 4y+8 -14 = 7y y = -2
you were close :)
Ahh mixed up those negatives :b Thank you!!
good luck ;)
