can someone explain the mean value theorem to me? (calculus)

Pretty much it means if f(x) meets the two conditions: 1) is continuous on [a, b] and 2) is differential on (a,b) Then there exists at least one point (c) in (a,b) which you can call c1 c2 c3, etc when there is more than one. f'(c) = \[\frac{ f(b)-f(a) }{ b-a }\]

oh ok thanks! does the function also have to be defined at x= some kind of value? is that one of the conditions? @musicalrose
