How many liters of methane gas (CH4) need to be combusted to produce 8.5 liters of water vapor, if all measurements are taken at the same temperature and pressure? Show all of the work used to solve this problem.

first, i would write the combustion reaction for methane. what does methane react with, and what are the products? then, i would ask myself: what is the number (stoichiometric) ratio of methane consumed to the water vapor created? based on this ratio, i would refer to the amazing avogadro's law to get the answer.
