very urgent questions:;; please help An orange solid A on heating gives a colourless gas B .The gas B in dry condition is passed over heated Ca to give a solid C.The solid C further reacts with water to produce gas D which forms a blue coloured compound E on reaction with copper sulphate solution.Identify A,B,C ,D and E and sequence of reactions involved.

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

ammonia forms a blue compound when reacted with copper sulphate solution

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

so that might be gas D . Compound E would be tetraaminecopper sulphate.

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

The solid C could be calcium nitride which reacts with water to form ammonia ( gas D). working back the Gas B would be nitrogen. dont know what solid A is. sorry I cant be more definite

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

long time since I studied chemistry

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

compound on heating liberates N2 mean is it nitride or what

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

probably - i really dont know.

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

cant see any message gotta go right now anyway
