OpenStudy (anonymous):

How many grams of iron metal do you expect to be produced when 245 grams of an 80.5 percent by mass iron (II) nitrate solution reacts with excess aluminum metal? Show all of the work needed to solve this problem. 2 Al (s) + 3 Fe(NO3)2 (aq) yields 3 Fe (s) + 2 Al(NO3)3 (aq)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would you find the mass of iron nitrate solute from "percent by mass"? how is the number of iron(III) dissociated from iron nitrate related to the mass of iron nitrate dissolved? that's going to be the same as the number of atoms in the iron metal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know what "percent by mass" means? the definition is in the book.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't have a book im doing online school and they don't explain anything

OpenStudy (anonymous):

perfect, online search "solution percent by mass, definition" and see if you understand it. even if you are doing online courses, it's still handy to have a $4.00 second hand gen-chem book.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you for trying to help me but im running out of time to turn this is in.. can you just give me the equation to solve this problem? if you know it i just need to know how to solve the problem...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this isn't an answer site http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct sorry, but there'll be medal-hungry people who will give you a straight answer. just wait around.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not asking for an answer im just asking for the equation that helps me solve the problem
