Molar solution amount of solute in 1 litre of solvent
OpenStudy (anonymous):
thanks for reply. U mean that moecular wegiht of a solute in 1 L solvant?
OpenStudy (chmvijay):
yaaa for example NaOH molecular weight is 40
40 gram in 1000 ml (1L) of water gives 1M NaOH solution
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh thanks dear. A BIG thanks for you.
OpenStudy (chmvijay):
can i ask one thing

yes please
OpenStudy (chmvijay):
if 40 gram in 1000 ml (1L) of water gives 1M NaOH solution
then 4 gram in 1000 ml (1L) of water gives X NaOH solution
X= ???
OpenStudy (anonymous):
wait i have to calculate
OpenStudy (anonymous):
100g in 1000 ml
OpenStudy (chmvijay):
NOOO

if 40g/1000ml = 1M
then 4g/1000 ml = \(\frac{4*1}{40}=X\)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
0.1
thomaster (thomaster):
0.1M NaOH solution yes
OpenStudy (anonymous):
tx for help dear
OpenStudy (anonymous):

what does it m,ean by 0.25 M NaCl
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and how can I calculate it
thomaster (thomaster):
It means the same, just the molarity.
0.25M means 0.25 mol NaCl per Liter solution
The molar mass of NaCl is 58.44 grams/mol
so 1 mol = 58.44 gram
0.25 mol = 0.25*58.44 = 14.61 gram
So there is 14.61 gram NaCl in 1 Liter solution (14.61 g/L)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
hummm
thomaster (thomaster):
what do you want to calculate exactly?
