A car is travelling 75.0 km/hr on a highway, then encounters bad weather. Over a 0.5 hour time period the driver slows down to 50.0 km/hr. Calculate the acceleration of the car. PLEASE HELP

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[v=v_{0}+at\]So\[a=\frac{ v-v_{0}}{ t }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

initial velocity\[ \nu _{0}=75.0km/h\] and final velocity \[\nu=50km/h\] t=0.5 h hence by using above formula given by Anonymous1921 \[a=\frac{ (50-75) }{ 0.5 }\] \[a=-50km/s ^{2}\] Acceleration is negative, because car has slowed down i.e. velocity has decreased.
