or at least that's where I've heard of them and where they are most measurable

then you go on to discuss how it is useful or important translation: how it makes things more efficient or cheaper
first you say that colligative properties are used in _________ (insert topic here) then you state the colligative property that is used (like of the four I gave you from wikipedia) then you explain how it's useful
