What is the energy change that will occur when 25.5 grams of oxygen gas (O2) react with excess methane (CH4) according to the reaction below? CH4 + 2 O2 CO2 + 2 H2O H = -889 kJ/mol 354 kJ of energy will be given off by the reaction 354 kJ of energy will be absorbed by the reaction 708 kJ of energy will be given off by the reaction 708 kJ of energy will be absorbed by the reaction

@Mertsj

OpenStudy (mertsj):

You don't even have an equation. You not only have to have an equation...it must be balanced. And if this is a chemistry question, what is it doing in the biology section?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the equation is the first one and idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i put it in the chemistry section

OpenStudy (mertsj):

That is NOT an equation. All that says is that you have energy released by the reaction. It doesn't show what the reaction is. I feel fairly confident that you have not posted the question correctly which tells me you don't know what is being asked. You should make sure you know what you are trying to find and then we can talk about how to find it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i copy and pated it but okay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pasted

OpenStudy (mertsj):

So now you should compare what pasted with what you thought you pasted. I have copied and pasted lots of stuff that didn't paste accurately.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

start by converting the grams to moles
