Using the activity series of metals, how do we predict the outcome of Ag(aq)+Au(s)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The metal that's higher in the activity series will be the one displacing the other metal. Basically the metal that is the highest one of the activity list will be the one which donates electrons. Depending on which one is higher on the series, the one that's highest will be the one that is more easily oxidised.

highest one on the activity*

the rule of thumb: "any metal on the list will be oxidized by the ions of the metals below it"-- from Chemistry, the Central Science

high on the list <=> high tendency to lose electrons <=> highly active.
