@jim_thompson5910
you do NOT add the exponents
you actually subtract the exponents
example x^5 divided by x^2 = x^(5 - 2) = x^3

But there isn't an answer from subtracting both of the exponents. How would I do that?
the exponents for the 'a' terms are 6 and 4 so a^6 divided by a^4 = a^(6-4) = a^2 see how I'm getting this?
Mhmm, but what happens to the b^3 and b^2?
b^3 divided by b^2 = b^(3-2) = b^1 = b
keep in mind that anything to the first power is itself ex: 2^1 = 2 10^1 = 10 232^1 = 232 etc, etc
