dentify the following statements as conjunction, disjunction, negation, or conditional. The sum of the angles of a triangle equals 180°, or a right triangle has two right angles. conjunction disjunction negation conditional

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

dentify huh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mhmm

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

a right triangle cannot have two right angles. two right angles alone will make up a 180° the sum of the three angles in a triangle is equal to 180°

OpenStudy (anonymous):

p1= right. p2= wrong

OpenStudy (sk8rgirl12):

Right triangles only have one right angle. Any more and it just wont work. Triangles, so my 5th grade math teachers used to say, do equal 180 degrees.

OpenStudy (sk8rgirl12):

And nincompoop has a point, there.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

okay now let us break down the definitions of each word conjunction, disjunction, negation, or conditional. let me start with conditional. conditional requires an IF statement and followed (but not always) by THEN; negation indicates the opposite with the use of NOT in many cases; conjunction is similar to english grammar. it is composed of a compound sentence joined by "AND"; in disjunction, it uses OR instead of AND in a compound sentence and the only way for the statement to be false is to have both statements to be false;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Soo it's a disjunction?

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

SINCE your original statement composed the OR (and a misplaced comma) it can be described as disjunction.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

well done!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yus. Gracias Senor nincompoop (;

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

now in disjunction, EITHER part or BOTH PART of the compound sentence may be TRUE in order for the whole statement to be TRUE. And as I mentioned earlier, BOTH parts of the compound sentence must be FALSE in order for the whole statement to be FALSE.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand now thank youu
