the acidity of normal rain water is due to a)co2 b)cl2 c)no2 d)so2
what do you think? :)
the atmosphere is filled with a lot of carbon dioxide soo....
interesting!!!
how about sulfur oxide? do they contribute to the acidity of rains?
yaaa but not for normal rain , they cause the acid rain most of time :)
I mean normal rain really? with a century of industrial expansion, there would hardly a normal rain I would posit.
The acid created by carbon dioxide is carbonic acid which not so acidic is weak acid and is present in most of the time in normal rain water whose pH will be in between 4 to 7
Normal rain water implies not polluted air. Polluted air would be due to sulfur and nitrogne oxides. NOx as they are sometimes called. Normal would probably be due to CO2.
But I do agree that \[CO_2\] is one source in acidity in a "normal" rain.
ya THANK TO EPA and regulatory boards in the UN for skewed definition of polluted air. I do however, like the fact that we are doing something to help curb polluting the air at a very rapid rate. For more information, http://www.epa.gov/air/urbanair/
http://www.epa.gov/air/airtrends/sulfur.html From this what you want to conclude is that SO2 gas emission is decreasing year by year right but it is in some countries only some other countries still its under process..
@babi, did this help?
Oh, he/she is offline
it's due to complex carbohydrates. could you imagine it rained donuts.
