t=1, find equation of the plane normal to r(t) =

OpenStudy (experimentx):

put t=1 and get a point on the curve. then the equation of tangent is R(t) = r(1) + t x dr(t)/dt|(t=1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks, I'll work it out!

OpenStudy (experimentx):

normal plane is perpendicular to tangent .. change that equation of tangent plane from parametric to cartesian ... let x,y,z be any point on plane, then ((x,y,z) - r(0)) dot product (tangent vector at t=0) =0 <-- this should give you equation of normal plane.

yea the plane thing was getting to me, thanks x
